Joyce Faye Nelson, 83, of Dingess, WV departed this life early Sunday morning on February 5th, 2023 peacefully in her sleep. Joyce was born on June 19, 1939.
Those waiting to reunite with her in Heaven were her loving parents, Hazel and Millard “Shackbuck” Spaulding; 4 wonderful siblings, James Spaulding, Charles Spaulding, Gloria Conley, and Shelia Spaulding; an amazing loving husband, Auddie Nelson; one beloved son, Zachary Nelson; one grandchild, Trista Nelson; one great grandchild, Shannon Nelson.
Joyce was married to the love of her life, Auddie Nelson, for 58 wonderful years before he departed this life. Their children left to cherish her memories are three daughters: Virginia Browning (Frank Gibson) of Chapmanville; Shelia (Mike) Fleming of Dingess; Betty (Michael) Baggett of Georgia; and four sons: Ricky (Teresa) Nelson of Dingess; David Nelson of Dingess; Clinty Nelson of Kanawha County; and Alvin Nelson of Kanawha County.
Others left to cherish her memory include 2 sisters: Esta Chafin of Mount Gay, and Bonnie Adams of Harts. One brother, Alvie (Bambie) Spaulding of Mud Fork. A very special grand daughter who was also her care giver in her final days Kristi (John) Sloan of Dingess. Kristi was there for her no matter the time of day or night. The family is very grateful, and will never be able to thank her enough for all she did for Joyce.
Joyce also leaves behind 18 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, and 13 great great grandchildren to also cherish her memory. Pallbearers will be: Rick Nelson, Lil Rick Nelson, Aaron Nelson, Nick Nelson, Cody Nelson, Skyler Patrick, Darian Browning, Jack Browning
Services will be held at Mudfork Freewill Baptist Church. Friends and family may gather Thursday Feb 9th starting at 6 pm. Funeral services will begin at 12pm on February 10th with burial following at Frye Family Cemetery. Services will be conducted by Greg Taylor.
