Katheryn (Sally) Elaine Davis

Katheryn Elaine “Sally” Davis of Delbarton, West Virginia went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 2, 2023, after passing away peacefully at the age of 75.

Sally was born on January 14, 1948, in Logan, WV to Isom Sr. & Eller Nobel [Vannatter] Ooten. She attended Lenore High School and enjoyed planning reunions for her former classmates. On May 26, 1962, Sally married the love of her life, Marion Davis Jr. - During 59 years of marriage, they grew a family that loved them just as much as they loved one another. Sally cherished her family and was fulfilled by being a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, in addition to being a sister, aunt and cousin. She was loved by all who knew her and was known for her kind spirit, generosity and a smile that could light up any room. She enjoyed cooking for family and friends alike, and especially enjoyed sharing her world-famous fudge. Sally was an active member of The Ajax Church of our Lord Jesus Christ and served as a member of the Lady’s Aide. She was a devout Christian who loved the Lord and never wavered in her faith.

Sally was preceded in death by her parents, Isom Sr. & Eller Nobel Ooten; husband, Marion Davis Jr.; daughters, Penny Elaine Maynard & Donna Lynn Mounts; and brothers, Tommy [Betty] Ooten, Gene [Diane] Ooten & Tex [Judy] Ooten.

Those left to cherish all of the wonderful memories of Sally include daughter, Sonya Renea with husband Roger Lee Davis, along with granddaughter Alexandra (Lexi) Nichole Davis of Summerfield, FL; Son, Marion Michael (Mike) Davis with wife Barbara Nicole (Nikki), along with granddaughters Makaela Katheryn & Peyton Lynn Davis of Flowery Branch, GA; Son-in-Law, Kevin Dwayne Maynard [Penny], along with grandson, Tyler Dwayne Maynard of Oakwood, GA; Granddaughter, Kelli Katheryn Maynard of Asheville, NC; Grandson, Kevin Christian Maynard with wife Satin of Asheville, NC; Son-in-Law, Barry Mounts [Donna] of Johnson City, TN; Granddaughter Jenna Shae’ with husband Jacob Nathanael Bailey, along with great grandchildren, Zoey Gail & Barrett Nathanael Bailey of Piney Flats, TN; Brother, Isom with wife Sandra Ooten of Crown City, OH; and brother, Ermon Otten along with Brenda Drautz of Lenore, WV.

The family will receive visitation from 1:00 – 2:00 pm at Parsley Bottom Freewill Baptist Church in Lenore, WV on Sunday, June 11, 2023, with funeral services to follow at 2:00 pm with the Reverend Jimmy Maynard officiating. A graveside service will be held immediately after at the Ooten Family Cemetery in Delbarton, WV. Pallbearers will include: Michael Davis, Roger Davis, Kevin D. Maynard, Kevin C. Maynard, Barry Mounts, Jacob Bailey, Brian Ooten, and Robert Curry.
